The city of Derhachi, located near Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine, has suffered significant losses due to the Russo-Ukrainian war. Due to its proximity to the Russian border and Kharkiv, the city became a target for mass shelling and attacks.

Since the onset of hostilities in 2022, Derhachi has seen numerous residential buildings, schools, administrative buildings, and infrastructure destroyed. Civilian facilities, including hospitals, kindergartens, and electrical networks, were particularly hard hit. Many residents were forced to leave their homes due to the constant danger.

Despite the severe damage, local residents, along with volunteers and government agencies, continue to work on rebuilding the city, providing humanitarian aid, and assisting with the reconstruction of damaged buildings.

The water filtration station in Derhachi was installed with the support of the charity organization "Razom for Ukraine." This station has become a crucial component in restoring access to clean water for local residents. It filters water to ensure its safety for consumption, which is critically important given the destruction and unstable water supply conditions caused by the war. Thanks to this collaboration, thousands of people in the Kharkiv region no longer need to worry about access to safe water.
